Sleep deprivation and sleep disorders are among the most common yet often overlooked and easily treated health problems. College students are the group most likely to experience sleep disorders. Studies show that approximately 50% of the global student population experiences sleep problems, with 62% of them experiencing poor sleep quality. At the Faculty of Public Health, Halu Oleo University, 80.5% of 87 students experienced poor sleep quality, with an average sleep duration of 5-6 hours. This is contrary to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. This study aims to determine factors associated with sleep quality in students of the Faculty of Public Health, Halu Oleo University in 2025. The type of research used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The number of samples in this study was 274 people selected using the Proportional Random Sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the Chi Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between gadget use (p-value = 0.045), physical activity (p-value = 0.039), stress levels (p-value = 0.001), and coffee consumption (p-value = 0.028) and sleep quality. However, there was no significant relationship between environmental factors (p-value = 0.885) and sleep quality. Therefore, it is recommended that students limit gadget use before bed, exercise regularly to increase physical activity, manage stress, and limit caffeine consumption, especially at night, to improve sleep quality.
